General Description:
1-Z-4-Piperidone is the starting material in biheteroaromatic diphosphine oxides-catalyzed stereoselective direct aldol condensation reactions.
Use:
Protected piperidones for interesting synthetic transformations including Knoevenagel, heterogeneous Diels-Alder, and reactions to N-(4-piperidinyl)hydroxyindole. Starting material for the synthesis of GABA analogs by direct Barbier-type addition of alkyl phosphinates.
